David Cunnington FCA

David has over two decades of experience in finance and real estate and started his career in 1996. Prior to founding Charles Irvine, David served as the Head of Corporate Finance at Savills Investment Management, where he joined as founding partner in 2004. David's transaction experience totals equity financing of c £1.8bn, debt financing of c. £1.9bn, and M&A advice involving AUM of c. £16.4bn. Previous to his post at Savills Investment Management, David held positions at Close Brothers, the UK merchant bank, and Deloitte in the UK.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Manchester, and is a Chartered Accountant.


Douglas Babington Smith MRICS

Prior to joining Charles Irvine, Douglas served as Managing Director of DTZ (now Cushman) in Italy. Douglas began his career in real estate in 1994 with Jones Lang LaSalle and latterly was Director, Capital Markets Italy until 2013 following which he joined DTZ to lead and grow the business. Douglas has personally undertaken investment transactions of over €1.5 billion and has acted for several institutional clients (both domestic and international) within the Italian real estate market. He holds a Master’s Degree in History at the University of Edinburgh; a Master’s degree in Land Management from the University of Reading and is a Chartered Surveyor.


 

Sean Adams

 

Sean has 20 years experience in UK and International property finance arranging bespoke debt and equity packages.  Prior to joining Charles Irvine as a senior advisor, Sean was International Director of SPF Private Clients (formerly Savills), and was responsible for a team providing pan-European and US debt advice.  Sean started his career as founder and shareholder of the European Mortgage Company, an innovative company offering mortgage advice to investors in Southern Europe as well as the UK.  He now has interests in short term European funding and currency businesses, as well as residential property investment. Sean holds a bachelors degree in Economics and Politics as well as FPC and CEMAP qualifications.
